Polished Concrete
Polished concrete is an adaptable material that can easily be tailored in its appearance by using spectacular colours and combinations to infuse some industrial complexity in both commercial buildings and homes. Though it is still widely used for internal flooring, it can now be used on driveways, outside patios, etc
To create the mechanically polished concrete, a chemical hardener is applied to densify the absorbent concrete and then crushing it to the anticipated smoothness and polish. Using some fine tools similar to those used for sanding wood, the concrete can be ground to 800, 1500 or 3000 grit level. Also, the “exposure level”-the amount of original surface crushed and, therefore, how much aggregate material is exposed- should be considered.
A key selling point of polished concrete is its ease of maintenance. It’s hard, smooth surface makes it durable and easy to clean. Although concrete has a high propensity to crack due to building settling and moisture, it can be repaired using different products
Polished concrete is not only versatile but also customisable because it comes with an option of using different cement aggregates and varied finishes. Colours can be blended into the concrete prior to placing the slab or they can be applied with stain or dry shakes afterwards.
Additionally, polished concrete is an effective thermal mass. Keeping cool during winter and retaining heat during summer. In terms of cost, the price range is broad and depends on the sophistication of the finish. Nonetheless, due to its low maintenance and longevity, it is more economical than floor tiling and polished floorboards.

Countertops
Concrete countertops provide a fully customisable and handcrafted surface ideal for bathrooms, kitchens and outdoor guest entertainment areas, as well as bars and restaurants. These counters fuse beauty and functionality, providing surfaces of any shape, size, or colour. They come with finishes and textures that can match the modern, traditional, rustic, industrial, and any other design style. Moreover, the countertops are inherently easy to clean and durable.
Countertops can either be precast at our workshop or poured in place on the site. Precasting comes with the advantage of giving the contractor more leeway to control the prevailing conditions during the whole process while also offering easy access to any tools and equipment required.
Pouring-in-place is ideal when there is a problem in either getting a larger portion into the completed space or delivering from the workshop. The process of poring countertops in place can be disruptive and messy when done in your home. Depending on the desired finish, the process takes a few weeks.
Glass-Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC)
We use GFRC mixtures in making countertops that strong, durable and lighter in weight. To eliminate the need for supplementary support, the mixes have to be reinforced internally, and due to their enhanced sturdiness, GFRC countertops can be applied thinner to make them light in weight.
Size and Shape
Concrete can be moulded and therefore it can be designed into any shape or size.
Colour
White and black colours are the most popular choices, but the array of colours available is limitless. Liquid and powdered pigments are available in various colours for use. We can create customised colours or colour match to fabric or paint swatches. We use different methods such as dying, surface staining, and using an essential colour in the mix.
Finishes and Textures
For textures and finishes, hand-trowelling techniques can be used to give the countertop the desired feel. Also, different stones cast on the countertop can provide the desired finish. To mimic a marble or granite countertop, mottling and veining effects can be created by using casting methods and specialised concrete mixes.
Microcement
Microcement is cement based veneer which is thinly spread (about 2-3mm) to a variety of surfaces including concrete, screed, wood and tile. The coating gives an appearance and texture of concrete at only a fraction of the actual cost of real concrete. For kitchens and bathrooms, microcement is an ideal option because it is mould-free and anti-slip, making it the perfect choice for floor surfaces.
